Which subjects help for law?
English Advanced is the single most important subject. Law schools want to see evidence you can analyse complex texts, construct arguments, and write precisely under pressure. Essays in the Common Module and Module B directly mirror the skills law school demands.
Maths Extension 1 or 2 scales exceptionally well and can lift your ATAR even if you do not use maths in law school itself. Many high-achieving law students take both English Advanced and Maths Extension 2 for this reason.

Your ATAR is calculated from your best 10 units of HSC subjects, scaled by subject difficulty. Choosing the right subjects and performing consistently is more important than cramming in Year 12.
LearnCore students in Year 11 and 12 work with tutors who topped their own HSC subjects. If you are aiming for a competitive ATAR, starting specialist tutoring early in Year 11 gives you the most time to build the skills the HSC actually rewards.
